How our seeds are changing the world.

1. Touching lives all over the globe.

Seeds to the World donations have landed in countries far and wide, and we continue the effort to expand the ever-lengthening list of countries we've aided.

To the right is a compilation of the nations we have played a role in providing seed to, and we don't plan on stopping there! Everyone in the world needs to eat, therefore everyone in the world could use the gift of seeds.

2. Providing a variety of healthy food.

One of the best parts about seed donations is that the food that results is healthy and natural. Promoting a balanced diet in third world countries can be difficult, and access to fresh produce is often limited.

Giving seeds not only provides a plentiful source of food that can keep on giving for many years, but a source of healthy food at that. Better diets can contribute to less health issues in general, lessening a community's need for medical aid and increasing the quality of lives overall.

To the right is a chart of the different seed varieties donated so far, all of which came straight from Mother Nature to play a role in establishing a healthier community:

3. Giving people hope and opportunity.

Nothing changes lives quite like the opportunity to establish a brighter, healthier future. The Seeds to the World mission isn't only beneficial in theory, it actually works.

Dear Ray,

As always we are grateful to all of you who make the shipments of seed possible to Guatemala. First, I want to tell you about the great success we can see in Tanhoc, Peten. WE have beautiful vegetable gardens. There is one for the entire community while individual families have their own gardens as well.

WE first introducted the idea of vegetable gardens to supplement the people's diet of corn and beans about three years ago, at which time you supplied the people with the seeds requested. I delivered the seeds horseback and men in the village were enthusiastic about the community garden. Not only do most families enjoy a variety of vegetables, but also many of the men and young boys (teens) in the village are taking a program to learn about organic fertilizers and the like. This project could develop into a very good source of income for the people, especially since the major has promised to put in a road up to their mountain villages.

Once again, I want to thank you for making all of this possible. Over the years I've com to understand that it is not easy to improve the people's diet with much needed vegetables. Still, I believe we are making some progress and I believe it is a very worthwhile effort.

Gratefully,

'Marife'Hellman C.P.P.S.                                                         Guatemala

Dear Mr. Baglietto,

As of February 8, Lithuanian Children's Relief, Inc. is in receipt of 2535 pounds of vegetable seeds which was donated by Seeds to the World. The seeds will be transported from California to New Jersey from where they will be shipped to Riga, Latvia by ship cargo container and then to Vilnius, Lithuania by truck. Lithuanian Children's Relief, Inc. will cover all transport expenses for this shipment which is estimated at $2,500. In March/April the seeds will arrive in Lithuanian Ministry of Agriculture for testing and will then be donated to "Bendrija Viltis", a Lithuanian non-profit organization for distribution.

On behalf of the children of Lithuania, I would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to all the benefactors of "Seeds to the World" for their donations of these much needed vegetable seeds. Thank you for your great work in feeding the hungry people of the world.

Sincerely,

Daiva Veitas Neidhardt                                                                                                                                                Lithuanian Children's Relief
